To dream…the impossible dream
May 12, 2008
So coming from this past weekend’s SocialDevCamp East at the University of Baltimore, I found myself in an interesting rut. It’s not a bad rut…just wondering about the road less traveled. I found myself at the crossroads that I often see after these “unconferences” to which I attend. For a moment, I’m motivated to better myself and to jump on the bandwagon. Eventually one of these days, an unconference is going to push me over the edge…albeit in a good way.
Like I said, after SocialDevCamp East, I was pondering some meaning. I thought about how great it would be to take the 19″ monitor I have, scanner, color printer, SLR digital camera, point & shoot camera, laptop & desktop, TV, and webcam and creating my own little digital studio. It seems rather bizarre, but perhaps buying a microphone and/or headset to conduct myself via podcasts? At lunch yesterday, I was walking at the nearby mall and passed by Ritz Camera. My thinking once again got the best of me and I walked in thinking about purchasing an awesome video camera because while I got some decent video of the sessions at SocialDevCamp East, I felt that I could do better - it’s all about perfection after all, right?
Ahh…to be able to live life completely in one area where all the precious technology surrounds you and you are able to film, record, edit, blog, post, and stream it all…it’s the impossible dream.
