Going green…a desire to do so

Date April 27, 2008

So what the hell is going on with the world these days? First of all you have the growing cost of gas and oil that’s leading to the decline of the airline industry along with higher fuel costs for automotive travels. I just booked a recent trip cross-country and it cost me close to $1,000! What’s that about? Normally it’ll be about $800 or so. And now you have apparently a high cost of purchasing food and even Sam’s Club and Costco are regulating the amount of rice that you can get per visit. You know, it’s probably due to foreign policy and all the war and strife going on in the world. If we focused more on domestic issues than foreign policy, then perhaps we’d have enough money to spend on combating the housing crisis, recession, and other problems that are plaguing the community, don’t you think?

Besides, why is our government so combative when it comes to the environment these days? Okay, I’m not a tree-hugging hippie that supports Greenpeace, but I do think that we should take a more stringent effort towards protecting what we have. It’s Green Week (or at least it was) and I think I’ll try and be more conservative with my efforts - recycle more, waste less paper, conserve water, etc. I think that it would be really helpful and damn, there’s a lot of problems that needs to be fixed.
