No need to freak out
March 25, 2008
Well okay, so maybe there’s a need to freak out. I head into the office early again this morning and I’ve received practically 4 e-mails from my boss in just the last two hours…all relating to the same dreadful thing: the website redesign. I had just sent out the IP address for the site on a development server Monday afternoon so now my boss has had some time to review the site and when I saw one of her e-mails, I started to worry. It really hit the fan when I received an e-mail with the subject line: Come see me as soon as you get in with a red exclamation point stressing importance. So what did I do? What do you think? I practically threw off my coat and chucked the scarf I was wearing and ran into her office. Hell, I was basically stressing out because I thought I would be reamed for how the site appeared.
Although I’m not sure if I could be entirely to blame because it’s not as if I’ve seen the website in development before Monday. But anyways, that kinda sullied my mood for the day as I started to bug about all the crap that I had to do. Although it’s not helping me that the other folks in various departments are asking me for crap practically the last minute and expect me to bend over backwards. What’s up with that?
So today is the day when content begins to be loaded onto the site. I ran a brief inventory of what site has been preloaded onto the site, but it’s not looking all that promising. Oh, and there’s a pesky lil’ matter of finding images for the site. Crap…this is really starting to piss me off. The CMS is a little clunky at first and takes a little getting used to, but I think I’m making progress. I’d better get going on this because there’s only a week left!
