The week from hell begins

So we’re finally down to the last week and a half until the anticipated launch of a redesigned website. Can you stand it? I certainly can’t…it’s finally almost done. The only problem is that we’ve only been given access to the site as of today and not everything is complete. It seems that we’re doing this a little ass backwards or even developing while we’re designing. The team that I’m working with is pretty skilled and I’m sure that we’ll get things done, but there’s A LOT of things to do still. I hope that it’ll happen.

As usual we had our Monday start-of-week meeting where we pretty much laid out all the stuff that’s outstanding for the upcoming week. Go figure that at the beginning of the week I had to endure putting out multiple “fires”. During the past weekend, I’ve been worrying on whether our servers would be set up in time since they practically had been working on the damn things for the past couple of weeks…and e-mails had been traded back and forth between our hosting providers and our development team. I just want the damn thing to work already! So after that, I had to worry even more about the president of our web agency interject himself in our conversations after nearly 7-8 months and perhaps delay our intended launch. Under no circumstances, short of an act of God, was a delay going to be acceptable…we had proceeded pretty quickly and rapidly so this bump in the road was not a welcome thing.

So starting the week has left me pretty worked up and stressed. I’m sure that the week will hopefully improve as we edge closer to launch.
