Vote! Vote! Vote!

February 11th, 2008

I’m kinda disappointed in myself. Tomorrow is Primary Election Day in Maryland, Virginia, and DC so if I was actually affiliated with a specific party, then I suppose I’d go out and vote. But I’m going to be taking the higher ground and not vote. It’s not that I don’t want to, but rather…I can’t. See, the wonderful folks in the state of Maryland decided to make the primary closed, which means that I can’t vote for either McCain, Clinton, or Obama. Why? Because I’m registered as an Independent.

Yes, I suppose I could switch my party, but I’m quite content being an Independent…being psuedo-courted by the candidates to support them. Oh well. But I suppose I can’t be too disappointed as a good candidate from the Democrats will be selected - Obama and Clinton both have great ideas and are pretty good people that’ll make history; and the Republican nominee is pretty much done so there’s no real point. I’ll be working to get out to vote in November though so the General Election won’t disenfranchise me then.

So go vote tomorrow and make a difference during the Potomac primaries! I’ll back those choices up in November.
