Congrats to Senator Inouye on his engagement!
January 30, 2008
I think that it’s really remarkable and really nice to find someone again after sharing your life with someone for over 55 years. That’s exactly what Senator Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) did today. Announced on the Honolulu Advertiser website, the state’s senior senator announced his engagement to Irene Hirano, the president and chief executive officer of the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. This is the second marriage for the great senator of Hawaii. His first wife sadly passed away in 2006 from lung cancer. They were married for over 55 years.
