“Standing by our interest in the Persian Gulf”

Did President Bush just say that? I think he did. That’s rather interesting since he was talking about Tehran and the Palestinian conflict and how we should all “live in peace”. So yeah…he talks about how a democratic Israel and democratic Palestine can live together in peace and hopes to have that before he leaves office in 2009. Uh, but did he have to mention that he wants to protect “our interest” in the Persian Gulf? Does that mean…oil?

And what’s with taking a line out of the movies? “The time to act is now.” Are you serious? You’re going to use that line to have Congress renew the FISA act? Well as soon as he said that the Republicans stand up and give standing ovations. And the Democrats? Well they don’t give a damn what Bush said and sit there.
