Burger King wastes money on commercial
There’s a point to every commercial and obviously it appears that Burger King’s latest commercial is to point out that IF they stopped serving the whopper, then loyal customers would be mad. Now that’s a perfect point, but did they need to waste a lot money (perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars) just on a tv commercial PLUS the amount they lost by tricking customers at just one Burger King store by telling them they didn’t have the whopper anymore? I think that’s just stupid. At one point, Burger King was highly in debt and perhaps even in bankruptcy and if they had just emerged a few years ago from Chapter 11, would it be a wise investment to have this type of stupid commercial?
The whopper is your staple sandwich and everyone knows that Burger King is the home of the whopper, just like a Big Mac is found at McDonalds. So obviously if the whopper doesn’t exist, then common sense would possibly tell you that people would be kind of miffed. Market research is definitely important, but did you really need to waste money for a tv commercial to tell the public that if the whopper doesn’t exist, that they should be pissed? There are alternatives to the whopper - not as if the whopper is the only sandwich in the world. C’mon, people! The fact you wasted that much money on a stupid and pointless commercial is fruitless…
