The Thanksgiving weekend recap

Date November 25, 2007

So I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break as I did…it was pretty good. Was it the best yet? I don’t think so, but I kept myself pretty busy.

Took off work early as we closed the office around 3ish and spent the rest of the day just hanging around the house and surfing the net and watching some tv. Then Thanksgiving day, I slept in and headed up to Delaware to meet some old family friends and chilled watching practically ALL the NFL games on that night (Detroit, Dallas, and one other team) before enduring the 1 1/2 hour drive back down south to wait out the time before Black Friday officially began. Yes, I’m aware that I’m probably crazy for waiting it out…but it gets better…I think.

So dinner was awesome and I had my filling. Got home around 1 am and decided to stay awake as I didn’t want to deal with the whole getting up in 3 hours after getting comfortable in bed…I hate that…so I stayed up, watched some tv, surfed the net, and then took a quick shower and headed out to Best Buy for the start of Black Friday - they opened at 5am. Got to the store around 4:30ish and there I saw this HUGE line of about at least a hundred’ish people lined up all the way around the corner…probably a whole block length. Now when I went out to shop, I never really had anything I needed to buy. At the end of the day, I only wound up buying some DVDs…pretty good price.

Spent the rest of the day going to Office Depot, Staples, Toys ‘R’ Us (probably the worst place to go during Black Friday), and then the mall. Picked up some new shades from LensCrafters before heading home and literally crashing on the sofa for about 20 hours. Seriously tired…missed lunch, dinner, and everything in-between. Woke up just long enough to catch the end of the Univ. of Hawaii football game on ESPN vs. Boise State where they totally won and now it’s on to BCS (I hope)…and then grabbed a bite to eat and slept until 8am…yeah, that was fun.

But yeah, raked the leaves and headed back to Delaware last night for a Yakiniku-style dinner and watched The Hunt for the Red October before speeding back on I-95 to get my sleep schedule back on track. Alas, now it’s time for the work week to begin again and will have to wait until Christmas to relax again…
