Arsonists are Idiots
So now that some of the fires are contained in California, this tragedy turns to the suspected arsonists who are still on the lose in the state. Governor Schwarzenegger has vowed to hunt these idiots down and apparently they’ve apprehended a few suspects already. Now why would these morons decide to play with fire? Sure, it’s a spectacular thing, but you gotta have some common sense here, people!
Are some people THAT obsessed with being seen as a hero that they purposely set a fire? Well the ONLY way that you’ll be able to be a hero is if you stop the fire. Fire can be a tricky thing, especially in the wilderness with plenty of dry brush. These things are unpredictable and you’d have probably a better chance of being seen as a hero with a flood. I hope they find all of these and allow the people to lynch them in the town square. You set a fire, didn’t report it, and caused over 1 million people to evacuate their homes - many who have lost EVERYTHING just as a result of your stupidity?
Run dammit…run…you guys should be so lucky to be caught and serve 6 years and pay a fine. That won’t do anything to help recoup the cost that the state and federal governments will shell out to help cover the damage. With over 1 million returning to their homes and 7 deaths, these arsonists should each be charged with manslaughter. Hell, I’d settle for murder charges - I think it’s possible…I saw it in a Law & Order episode…
